Baghdadia is a contemporary multifamily housing complex located in the heart of downtown Jeddah, a vibrant area close to key government offices, commercial buildings, and midrise residential neighborhoods. This seven-story building, comprising four distinct residential blocks, is designed to foster community interaction while maintaining privacy and modern living standards.

The development includes a basement dedicated to parking and utilities, while the upper floors house a range of apartment sizes. The layout is organized around a central courtyard, a design choice that prioritizes open space and fosters a sense of tranquility and connectivity within the complex. The residential blocks are positioned along the site’s perimeter, with their orientation subtly shifting to create visual interest and direct focus inward toward the courtyard, the heart of the project.

The apartments themselves are designed with privacy in mind, minimizing direct openings to shield residents from the busy city streets. Most units follow an “L” shaped plan, providing each apartment with access to a private terrace that overlooks the central courtyard. The design of the units alternates and rotates between floors, breaking up the monotony of repetitive façades and generating a dynamic, lively aesthetic. This playful approach not only enlivens the building’s exterior but also brings a fresh, contemporary perspective to the surrounding neighborhood.

By seamlessly combining private living with vibrant communal spaces, Baghdadia introduces a fresh, contemporary approach to midrise residential design in Jeddah. The project challenges conventional residential architecture, offering a bold new vision that adds energy and character to the urban landscape, while providing a contemporary and dynamic living experience for its residents.
