The BEGA Experience Center in Dubai, UAE represents a seamless blend of innovation, craftsmanship, and functionality, offering a dynamic space where design and technology converge.
As the first BEGA center outside of Germany, this 750 SQM. (8,400 SF.) facility encapsulates the company’s commitment to excellence in lighting solutions while creating an immersive environment for exchange and collaboration among designers, developers, clients, and students.
The Experience Center is designed to foster exchange and collaboration. By bringing together a diverse audience passionate about and expert in lighting, the space’s open design creates both a formal and informal environment conducive to professional development and product advancement.
The architectural concept revolves around the interplay of space and experience, reflecting BEGA’s dedication to precision engineering and its wide range of products that illuminate public spaces, buildings, and landscapes. The design approach emphasizes flexibility, offering a variety of uses within its carefully curated spaces. The 45-meter-long (148-foot-long) volume is divided into a series of “boxes” that disrupt the otherwise fluid form of the space. These boxes are inspired by the organic, fragmented nature of urban cityscapes and they punctuate the long expanse of the Experience Center, becoming the defining architectural feature of the interior.
The boxes themselves contain key functional elements of the program—private offices, meeting rooms, display areas, and services. These enclosed volumes are carefully positioned to create a flow between public and private spaces, enhancing user experience through varied perspectives and interactions. The resulting “in-betweens”—the spaces between the boxes—serve as areas of discovery. Visitors are invited to engage with the space in a personal way, encountering different moments, views, and interactions as they move through the Experience Center.
